Frequently Asked Questions
Is paintball safe?
Yes. Paintball is a highly regulated sport with established safety standards. At Prosser Paintball, all games are referee-supervised and safety rules are strictly enforced. Masks must remain on at all times while on the field, and all markers are chronographed to remain within safe velocity limits.
Safety is our top priority.
Do masks have to stay on at all times?

Yes. We host birthday parties, team events, youth groups, and private sessions. Contact us for availability and group pricing options.
Do you play in the rain?
Light rain does not typically stop play. In cases of severe weather or unsafe conditions, games may be delayed or rescheduled.
Are referees present during games?
Yes. All games are referee-supervised to ensure safety, fairness, and structured gameplay.
Is air included?
Air is included with rental packages. Players using personal equipment may purchase an all-day air fill.
Are spectators allowed?
Yes. Spectators must remain in designated safe viewing areas at all times. If spectators wish to enter the field area during active gameplay, a properly secured mask and signed waiver are required.
What happens if someone breaks the rules?
Safety violations or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in warnings, removal from play, or suspension depending on severity. Referee decisions are final.
Does paintball hurt?
Paintball can cause brief discomfort similar to a firm snap from a rubber band. Proper safety gear significantly reduces impact. Most players describe it as more adrenaline than pain, and safety equipment is always required during gameplay.
How much paint will I need?
Paint usage varies by play style. Casual players may use 500–1,000 rounds during a session, while more competitive players may use more. We offer multiple paint quantities so players can choose what fits their pace of play.
How long does a typical session last?
Individual games typically last 5–15 minutes depending on the format and number of players. Most groups spend 2–3 hours at the field including check-in, safety briefing, and multiple rounds of play.
Can I just drop my kids off?
Players under 18 must have a liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Parents are welcome to stay and watch from designated spectator areas. Drop-offs may be permitted with completed waivers and emergency contact information on file.
Players 15 years of age and younger need to have a parent or guardian with them on site. This doesn’t mean they have to be playing. Observing is always free.
What if I’ve never played before?
No experience is necessary. Many of our players are first-timers.
Before play begins, all participants attend a safety briefing where we explain equipment operation, field rules, and basic gameplay strategies. Our referees are present during games to ensure safety and help new players feel comfortable.
Our rental packages are designed specifically for beginners, and we structure games to keep them fun, fair, and easy to follow.
Just show up ready to play — we’ll walk you through the rest.
What is your cancellation policy?
Reservations may be rescheduled due to severe weather or unsafe conditions. For private events, cancellation policies are provided at the time of booking. Please contact us in advance if your group needs to make changes.
Are there refunds?
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds once paintballs, air fills, or rental equipment have been issued.
In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, reservations may be rescheduled at management’s discretion. For private events, specific policies will be provided at the time of booking.
If you have concerns prior to play, please speak with staff before equipment is issued.
What happens if it’s extremely hot?
Safety comes first. In cases of extreme heat, severe storms, or unsafe conditions, games may be delayed, modified, or rescheduled. We monitor weather conditions closely to ensure a safe playing environment.
Are there velocity limits?
Yes. All markers must chronograph at or below 280 FPS (feet per second) prior to play. Markers exceeding this limit will not be permitted on the field, and you will need to adjust velocity before you can play.
Can I use my own air tank?
Yes. Players may use their own compressed air or CO₂ tanks provided they are in good condition and within current hydrostatic testing dates. All personal equipment is subject to inspection by staff prior to play.
All tanks must meet safety standards and field velocity limits. If you have questions about your equipment, our staff will be happy to assist.
